The 2nd Friday & Saturday in September is ArtUp PhinneyWood, where over 40 participating venues host different artists for a neighborhood art walk. Below are some of the artists we’ve had over the years.
Every April we host a FREE paper shredding & electronics recycling event! We have trucks on site in our parking lot to shred paper material and recycle obsolete electronics.
Every year since 1984, Windermere has closed its offices for one day to help make a positive difference in our local communities. Thirty-four years and more than one million hours of community service later, we've continued this tradition through neighborhood-enhancing projects in the areas where our Windermere teams live, work, and play.
Our Windermere Greenwood office usually works on projects with the Phinney Neighborhood Association, the North Seattle Boys & Girls Club, or local schools like Greenwood Elementary.
Our beer garden for charity takes place in our parking lot during the annual Greenwood Greenwood Car Show in June. We receive donations of beer, cider, seltzer and wine from local companies, and feature a food truck, lawn games, and live music.
100% proceeds from this event are donated to the Windermere Foundation, which supports low-income and homeless families in the community. In the past, we have directed the money we raised to the North Seattle Boys & Girls Club and The Bureau for Fearless Ideas, both within blocks of our office. In 2022 we are directing the money to Homesight, which helps reduce barriers to homeownership for People of Color. More info on Homesight here.
Windermere Summer Splash is jam-packed with family-friendly fun! Visitors of all ages can enjoy food from an exciting lineup of vendors, watch a rowing regatta featuring local corporate teams, and try their hand at various water sports like canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Each year our office has a different theme at our booth; mini golf and frisbee are a couple we have done.
Bring your kids, grandkids, and dogs on down to Green Lake for some fun in the sun!
In the spirit of Halloween, we like to keep it spooky by having BloodWorksNW on site to draw blood throughout the day. One donation can save up to three lives and BloodWorks needs at least 800 donations a day to meet the demand of local hospitals!
Each night in Seattle, nearly 1,000 young people are homeless. Every year, organizations are in dire need of survival supplies to keep homeless warm and dry during the long, wet winter. This is why we take 3 weeks in Oct/Nov to collect as many coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and warm socks as possible to donate to them!
Throughout November we collect food & cash donations from our agents and their clients so that we can put together full Thanksgiving meals for local families. The North Seattle Boys & Girls Club and Greenwood Senior Center connect us with local families in need and we are able to provide them with turkeys, fresh vegetables, canned goods like green beans & cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pies, so they are able to celebrate the holiday.
An annual Christmas event for clients! Bring your children and/or pets for a picture with Santa. Photos are free but we ask that you bring a non-perishable item for donation to the North Seattle Food Bank!
We share the joy of the holidays with Mary's Place women, children, and families by fulfilling Giving Tree Tag requests. This includes gifts for parents to give their children, gifts for children to give their parents, and $20 grocery vouchers.
